Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information Muvix collects, how we use it, and what choices you have.

Information We Collect

Muvix does not require account registration. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or payment details.

Automatic Information

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous, aggregated data that helps us improve the app:

  • App version and device model
  • Android version and screen resolution
  • Generic feature usage counters
  • Crash reports for debugging

This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Advertising Data

Muvix displays ads through the Unity Ads SDK. Unity Ads may collect device-level information such as your advertising identifier (AAID), IP address, device type, and operating system version to serve relevant ads.

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings (Android Settings > Google > Ads). This does not remove ads, but limits how advertisers target you.

Unity Ads operates under its own Privacy Policy.

Local Storage

The following data is stored only on your device using Android DataStore:

  • Watch history and playback progress
  • Favorites and watchlist
  • Recent searches (last 10 queries)
  • App preferences (language, theme, player settings)

We do not have access to this data. It is never transmitted to our servers. Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app will delete all local information.

Third-Party Services

When you stream content, you connect directly to third-party video hosting servers. We do not control these servers, and their own privacy policies apply.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website (muvix.org) uses only minimal technical cookies necessary for the site to function. We do not use tracking pixels, social media trackers, or third-party analytics cookies.

Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Ad-related data retention is governed by Unity Ads’ privacy policy. Local data on your device persists until you clear it or uninstall the app.

Children’s Privacy

Muvix is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (EU) or CCPA (California), including:

  • The right to access your personal data
  • The right to request deletion
  • The right to opt out of personalized advertising
  • The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
